Manufacturing Technician - Mechanical

As a Manufacturing Technician you will drive production efforts for existing products and multiple new contracts.

Duties will include:
  • This high-profile role will be responsible for component/sub-assembly/final product assembly and test of precision medical/diagnostic instrumentation
  • Light mechanical assembly is required
  • Also responsible for supporting staff in product development, documentation, PC and software configuration, and instrument troubleshooting down to the component level using standard tools and procedures
  • Will follow and may assist in developing methods and procedures for long-term manufacturing processes
  • Involves multiple activities and skills depending on candidate - mechanical ability, electrical knowledge, in-depth computer understanding, motion control, sensors, PC boards, soldering, inspection, and more
Requirements:
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills required (fluent)
  • Excellent knowledge of personal computers (Windows, MS Word/Excel applications) preferred
  • Experience of electro-mechanical assemblies and mechanical components
  • Skilled with common manual and powered hand tools and assembly techniques
  • Experience in handling and using materials (aluminum, steel, plastics) preferred
  • Understanding or experience in good manufacturing and workmanship practices
  • Knowledge of ESD procedures and requirements is ideal
  • History of work excellence in light assembly and manufacturing environments required (2 years minimum)
  • Strong preference for experience in electro-mechanical assembly, and/or work in a regulated environment (ISO, FDA/GMP)

Manufacturing Engineer - Mechanical

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will work with a team to drive production development efforts for existing products and multiple new contracts. Candidate will provide technical support related to manufacturing processes and analysis for medical/diagnostic instrument development.

Duties will include:
  • Capable resource for transition of new Engineering instrumentation to production (NPI - new product introduction). Analysis and development of mfg functions, capacities, facilities, and logistic operations.
  • Design and test efforts in support of production development. Includes engineering development, application of Design-for-X techniques, mfg simulations, possibly design of components and assemblies, test and mechanical fixture design. Assist in resolving design and supplier issues.
  • Responsible for creation and update of instrument related documentation (test procedures, assembly instructions, specifications). Will assist company FDA GMP and ISO development.
  • Implement performance, cost, quality and consistency improvements in existing and to-be-released products and processes.
  • Assist key personnel, project lead engineers, and/or Operations management in determination of work scope, tasks, schedules, and budgets. This challenging position has a great deal of interaction with technical staff.
Requirements:

Excellent documentation, communication, and technical writing skills required. Strong experience in development of processes for light manufacturing, electro-mechanical devices, and/or medical instrumentation. Proficiency with computer based engineering methods and computer tools. Knowledge of CAD tools preferred (Solidworks, AutoCAD).

Experience with FDA/GMP, ISO or military project environments and documentation strongly preferred.

Ability to work well with others - teamwork, cooperation, respect, and integrity, and excellent communication. Ability to logically document and solve problems and to keep projects moving.

BS/MS degree in ME/EE/Mfg or other related Science/Engineering field. 3 years minimum experience in production/manufacturing/sustaining engineering environment.

Must be immediately available and able to work in Maryland/DC area.

Consumable Manufacturing Process Technician

As a Consumable Manufacturing Process Technician you will be responsible for the daily production of coated cartridges and plates within Operations. The individual will be responsible for the programming, operation of and troubleshooting of automated fluid dispensing equipment used to perform and produce biochemical assays. In addition, the individual will be responsible for developing the production processes for drying, washing and packaging the coated cartridge. This job entails proficiency at pipetting, maintaining basic reagents, initializing and monitoring instrument operation, collecting data and maintaining instrument records.

Requirements:

The position requires a minimum of an AS degree in science or engineering with 4-5 years relevant experience. A BS degree in science or engineering with at least one year relevant experience is preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills, strong communication skills, strong documentation skills and organizational skills are required. Must be extremely detail-oriented, self-starter and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Must have a desire to work in a technically challenging, team-oriented environment. Troubleshooting skills and a strong mechanical aptitude are desirable. Experience in quality standards such as ISO9001:2000 is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft applications Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. And ability to learn additional software applications, as the need arises.

Consumable Manufacturing Assembly Technician

As a Consumable Manufacturing Assembly Technician you will be responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks including assembly of plates/cartridges, preparation of materials, operation of robotic equipment, maintenance of equipment, and inventory management.

Requirements:

The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Basic computer skills and experience with GMPs and/or ISO 9000 standards are preferred. This position may require lifting of up to 50 pounds.
